NMRO is offering ONE
(1) compact disk containing 1735(!!) images of track charts, land
valuation maps and detail drawings of the New Haven Railroad's Eastern
Division. We describe this area covered as all New York, New Haven &
Hartford Railroad trackage east of the Central Vermont Railway, which splits
the New Haven in two as it passes through Connecticut.
Since its demise, the
charts and drawings of the New Haven Railroad have long been sought after by
enthusiasts. Most of them are out there but are expensive to obtain and
difficult to find. At last, through the generous donations of fellow rail
historians, much of this data has now been processed and is available on
compact disc.
Please, make note of the
sample images provided as they indicate the extent of trackage covered on this
CD. One key map shows the lines covered by track charts (also known as
condensed profiles), with lines included shown in green. Lines not covered east
of the CV are shown as black and we are still searching for this data. The
other key map shows lines for which there are land valuation maps and are shown
in green. The remaining red lines are those for which we have yet to find land
valuation maps for east of the CV. As such, while you browse your copy of the
New Haven collection, you will see many empty folders. These will serve as
reminders to all other fans out there that we are still actively seeking
donations of material to expand the collection!
This CD contains track
charts for the following railroad: NEW YORK, NEW HAVEN & HARTFORD (trackage
east of Central Vermont Railway ONLY).
Image Details: Most of
these drawing were recently donated by a fellow faithful fan who did the
legwork of obtaining images. Resolution of all images is in 2 color GIF format.
If you were to try and buy
these track charts anywhere else in paper form it would cost you THOUSANDS of
dollars!!! NMRO Products proudly believes that railroad information should be
shared as reasonably as possible. Clarification: The data is FREE because it is
public domain. NMRO just does the legwork for you.
What's new in Revision 2? We have added almost 400 images of New Have Railroad territory as it was when the State of Massachusetts (MBTA) bought the properties from the railroad. These have been added to numerous folders in the collection under the heading of a folder called "later" in each of the folders containing the original valuation maps.
